Job Title: Student U Youth Leadership FacilitatorPreferred Qualification: Current Student U College Student or Student U AlumniPosition Description: Student U’s Youth Leadership Facilitator position is an opportunity for a current Student U college student or alumni to foster a space for Student U students to cultivate their voice and hone their leadership skills during Summer Academy. The Youth Leadership Facilitator will facilitate class sessions for the ‘Voices of Student U’ class, using and improving the existing curriculum for the course.Course Description: Voices of Student U is a highly engaging project-based course for Student U rising 9th and 10th grade students to develop leadership and communication skills, hone their voices on the issues they care more about, and deepen their understanding of Student U. Led by a Student U College Student or Student Alumni, students will explore youth leadership and community issues in Durham while learning skills through hands-on projects and group discussions. Students will create and present a final project as a culmination of what they have learned.
