THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
This role sits within our Strategic Planning and Transformation organization, reporting to our Service Assurance team. We are looking for a Software Developer Intern that will be tasked to work with our user interface and service layer teams to consolidate several disparate tools into a single secure tool site with appropriate logging and permissions management. This intern will be responsible for the collection of all the monitoring and management tools that have been developed, wrapping authentication and authorization around those tools, and providing a unified user interface. Candidates applying for this role should have full stack Java developer experience to be successful.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE
Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – June 2024.
Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Science, CIS or similar technical degree field.
Proficiency and understanding of;
Understand the requirements of each task and discuss the approach with more senior members of the team.
Intern should be a full stack java developer
- Strong drive for results and taking initiative
Ability to be resourceful and adaptable
Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with business partners and drive the conversation.
- Flexible and adapts well to change
Critical Skills needed to be successful:
Able to be flexible when working with others.
Able to accept and complete tasks without direct supervision
- Willing to fail fast and communicate those failures to being the search for solutions
- Technologies: Java, Oracle, code deployment in standard CICD stack (Github, Jenkins)
- Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield -CO (if local) otherwise, remote – work from home.
Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location or have a suitable remote work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
- US work authorization may be required
