Summary:

Reporting directly to theProvost andco-President ofOperations,and working closely and collaboratively with Assistant University Director, Student Affairs, Campus Directors, Student Affairs in amulti-faceted, multi-locationacademic and administrative setting. Provides leadership for the Assistant University Director, Student Affairs and for the campus Student Affairs Offices.A primary goal is to provide training, support services and development to the Campus Directors of Student Affairs and Student Advisors in effort to enhance student success through the lensof aholistic approach. The University Director of Student Affairs is responsible for ensuring quality of service and compliance with regulations. Serves as the Title IX Deputy Coordinator and oversees Grievances, Judicial Affairs, ADA Compliance, Campus Activities, Commencement, Hood Ceremonies and Veterans support.Lead initiative to improve the WCU student experience including but not limited topersistence, wellness, and diversity and inclusion.Collaborate with appropriate academic and student support partners to develop efficient and effective workflows that support student success.Responsible for leading commencement planning events, developing and monitoring dashboards on key performance metrics related to student success.



Essential Functions andResponsibilities:

Working closely with the Assistant University Director, Student Affairs, Campus Executive Directors, and Student Services associates plans and oversees these functions and related activities/programs that support student success for each campus.
Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting out dashboards on key performance metrics related to student success.
Develops, plans, implements, administers and is accountable for programs and services as well as establishing policies and procedures, accountability standards, measurements and rewards programs necessary to support the University's student services departments, associates and students.
Works with the Student Services associates, student groups and other members of the University community in developing extracurricular programming assuring integration with the academic life of the University and encouraging student personal growth and development, while ensuring student persistence achieves targeted levels.

Helps establish a student culture where diversity and inclusion are encouraged and where students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions, and exercise leadership.
Provides leadership in and is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and regulations pertaining to student life, ADA Regulations and student conduct.
Develops and coordinates policies and procedures relative to all student activities; oversees annual production of Student Handbook and other documents.
Ensures that University-wide objectives, goals, plans, policies, practices and actions produce desired student completion.
Travels between different locations to monitor and evaluate campus and associate, provides input to associate performance reviews, reports strengths, needed improvements and corrective actions to meet University and campus goals.

Plans University Commencement and Hooding Ceremonies.
Serve on University wide committees to represent the needs and concerns of Student Affairs and foster a healthy collaboration with all departments.
Conduct Judicial Appeals for Title IX and other Student Misconduct.
Serve as Deputy of Title IX Coordinator.
Provide professional development through on campus trainings and in -service and support professional development externally at national, regional conferences specializing in Student Affairs.

Ensure timely Student Satisfaction Surveys and other campus-based assessments are implemented, coordinated and completed in a timely manner with appropriated reporting.
Collaborate with president's office, vice presidents, provost, deans and other associates to promote and implement the strategic direction set for University, and in particular on those directions that will be created in the strategic plan for student persistence and retention, academic success, the student experience and student life on campus.
Advocate for the co-curricular needs of the students and champion student-centered decision making throughout the University - taking into account the University mission and values, and the diverse student population.
Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of relevant University and Student Affairs policies and procedures to ensure compliance and alignment with University mission; oversees annual production of Student Handbook and other documents.
Represent Student Affairs and the University in appropriate professional organizations, as well as events on and off campus.

Ensure timely Student Satisfaction Surveys and other campus-based assessments are implemented, coordinated and completed in a timely manner with appropriated reporting.
Represents the University in appropriate professional organizations.
Oversees to ensure that all University functions are in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations along with University's policies and procedures.
Participates in professional development and organizations in order to maintain an understanding of current ideas, research and practices, attends meetings, workshops and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge and skill in management development.
Maintains professional appearance for position and serves as a role model, leader and mentor to the campus community.

Adheres to University policies and procedures and provides leadership to all associates through guidance and example.
Maintains regular and timely attendance, reports to work as scheduled and assures time worked and/or time-off is recorded properly.
Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the University's Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and states laws, and applicable professional standards.
Maintains confidentiality of all student, associates, and/or company information as required.
Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and identifies unsafe conditions and makes appropriate adjustments.

Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work.



Education:



Bachelor degree in education, psychology, administration, business management, student affairs, or related field required.

Master's degree in education, counseling, administration, business management, student affairs, or related field preferred.



Knowledge/Experience:



Three to five years of increasingly responsible senior leadership experience in Student or Alumni Affairs at a private college or university.

Five to eight years of overall experience in /student services management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted, multi-location direction and planning.
Evidence of strong supervisory and managerial skills, including budgets, strategic planning, assessment and evaluation skills.
Experience with development and implementation of career programs.
Experience with college or industry workforce planning.
Knowledge of the principles of supervision, administration, systems management and community organization as applicable to specialized program area.

Experience with MS Office.
Knowledge of applicable databases and computer application systems to supply the most accurate information, reports and projections.
Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Title IV, WASC, and other accreditation standards.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
