SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking a licensed Trauma Lead Therapist to support and provide services in our Behavioral Health Services department. Position Description: The Trauma Lead Therapist provides trauma therapy and mental health support to patients of Mental Health and Trauma Programs. Provides lead clinical support, clinical consultation and guidance to clinicians, clinical interns, case managers, and Peer Support for clients in mental health and trauma programs at SOME. Act as Supervisor on Duty and support the team in absence of the Program Director. Covid-19 Considerations: SOME, Inc currently has a mandatory Covid-19 vaccination policy. Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Full-Time, 40 hours per week). The office is located on Benning Road in NE Washington, DC, directly across from the Benning Road Metro (blue line). Qualifications: Required: Master's Degree; 3 yrs. experience in providing clinical interventions to individuals who have survived trauma and/ or live with a serious chronic mental illness. Preferred: Master's Degree; 1+ year experience supervising staff in a mental health and or trauma program (including intern supervision); 5+ years' experience providing clinical interventions to clients who have survived trauma/ and or live with a serious mental illness. Required License/Certification: LICSW by the District of Columbia Department of Health; CPR/First-Aid Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of trauma and mental health symptoms and treatment protocol Knowledge of electronic health records usage and management Ability to develop therapeutic relationship with diverse populations Knowledge of state laws and mandatory reporting requirements Customer service skills with clients Flexibility with the ability to multi-task despite competing priorities Organized with an attention to detail Ability to set professional boundaries Mission-focused Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Excellent verbal and written communication skills Expected Contributions: Trauma & Mental Health Treatment: Utilizes trauma informed care in every aspect of client care. Maintains an assigned therapy caseload. Ensures clinical documentation matches the requirements of the program the client is enrolled in. Collaborates and promotes integration with client's care teams (professional and natural supports). Conduct risk assessments for walk-ins and patient referrals. Provide evidence-based interventions. Develop and implement assessments and treatment plans. Provide psychiatric crisis prevention and intervention. Design and develop clinical groups as assigned. Provide clinical expertise and consultations for therapeutic issues and support with fulfilling program reporting requirements. Lead Clinical Support: Provide coaching and clinical support to clinicians, case managers, peer support workers, interns, and volunteers. Review and cosign notes for LGSWs. Support with case assignment to staff.
