Title of Position: Sous Chef

Job Description: The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in supervising food production for all restaurant dining as well as executing food production tasks to ensure that food quality meets restaurant standards. The Sous Chef will prepare and directly supervise kitchen team members for the daily preparation of lunch and dinner menu items. The Sous Chef assumes complete charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef. The Sous Chef will assist in training kitchen team members and ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards and expectations. The Sous Chef will maintain standards of quality and appearance of each dish served by expediting service for lunch and dinner (as assigned) and working on the line (as assigned). The Sous Chef will be accountable for the cleanliness of kitchen workspaces, storage, and equipment as well as make recommendations for maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the kitchen and its equipment. The Sous Chef will assist in ordering food products and maintaining proper rotation of food products as well as have full knowledge of all menu items and specials.

Qualifications:

The Sous Chef must have a Minimum of 2 years of working in a fast-paced kitchen.

The Sous Chef must have an understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

The Sous Chef must have accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

The Sous Chef must have a strong passion for culinary excellence and a desire for learning and growing in their career

Excellent communication skills and being a leader in the kitchen is a requirements of the Sous Chef
