Data & Analytics is a high priority and this role provides the right individual the opportunity to help mature our analytic capabilities and drive improved business results.

The data engineer will play a pivotal role in building and operationalizing the minimally inclusive data necessary for the enterprise data and analytics initiatives following industry standard practices and tools. The bulk of the data engineer’s work would be in building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines and then moving these data pipelines effectively into production for key data and analytics consumers like business/data analysts, data scientists or any persona that needs curated data for data and analytics use cases across the enterprise.

Work required

Independently work with business teams, project leaders, and applications users to collect and analyze project business requirements for functions or applications.

Build certified data sources using SQL skills and Talend Studio to create automated, easily understood data assets in the presentation layer.

Needs to guarantee compliance with data governance and data security requirements while creating, improving and operationalizing these integrated and reusable data pipelines.

The data engineer will be measured on their ability to integrate analytics and (or) data science results with business processes.

 Will be the key interface in operationalizing data and analytics on behalf of the business unit(s) and organizational outcomes.

Lead efforts with business users to test, validate and evaluate new applications and functions, and identify issues with functionality.

Promote effective data management practice and process

Basic Qualification

5-year bachelor’s degree IT or related discipline required.

Solid understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data analysis, reporting, and basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows.

Advance SQL Skills.

Proficient with data warehouse architecture and data pipelines (ELT/ETL, data modeling)

Prior experience designing, developing, and implementing efficient business solutions while navigating complex business requirements.

Database development experience using Snowflake and experience with relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies.

Plus

Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite and related data models and structures.

Experience with other analytics tools: MS Power BI, OBIEE and Cognos.

Previous experience with MS SQL Server, and Oracle.

Knowledge of R, Python, and other data analytics and/or scripting tools.

Prefer prior exposure to machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
