Job summary
The Amazon Devices UX design & research team seeks a thoughtful, creative, and passionate Sr. UX Designer to be a part of our team as we build the next generation Trade-In experience for Amazon Devices, including Fire Tablets, Kindle E-readers, Amazon Echo products, Home Security products, and more. As a Sr. UX Designer, you will own the customer experience for Trade-In, a program that enables customers to trade-in their old devices as they upgrade to the newest model, supporting sustainability. You will define and designing interfaces across platforms (desktop, tablet, mobile) to help customers discover and evaluate their Trade-In options and learn about the process. You will tackle difficult customer problems and work closely with product partners to design best-in-class consumer experiences (user interface designs, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. You will work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and company leaders to successfully go from early-stage concepts to launch. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to deal with ambiguity within an open and collaborative peer environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to partner closely with peers, ask the right questions, and then turn the product vision into solid design deliverables that achieve the customer goals and business requirements.
Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate and work cross-functionally with design, program, and engineering teams from design concept to design solution, setting UX guidelines, creating assets, and aiding in bug fixes to ensure bar-raising quality all the way to market.
• Create the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience and associated UI framework and assets on a range of products; follow through with the processes and tactics to fulfill the vision
• Use various inputs to identify and define exciting new concepts, opportunities, and customer problems.
• Coordinate closely with the product management team to develop a shared vision of a product and then define the experience and design to deliver on the product’s objectives
• Work with other UX practitioners and team members across the organization.
• Develop and nurture relationships across the team, Amazon, and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency on Amazon projects

You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, researchers, and technologists that can envision, create, and execute ideas from start to end.
Basic qualifications
· 6+ years of design experience
· An available online portfolio
• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
• Experience designing for mobile and for e-commerce platforms
• Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently
• Ability to iterate quickly on designs while keeping quality high & remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, Visio or Omnigraffle, and Axure
Preferred qualification
• Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
• Experience working in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
• Experience presenting to and influencing people, from other designers and stakeholders to senior executive management
• Ability to prototype in HTML and CSS, or Axure a plus
• Impressive communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
