The Bioinformatics Core Facility is looking for a full-time Bioinformatics analyst with a strong background in next-generation sequencing data analysis. This data analyst position is for the newly founded Computational Immunogenomics Core Facility in the Department of Immunology. This position requires a strong background in big data analytics, visualization, and pipeline development. The data analyst will assist the investigator in designing, developing and deploying robust bioinformatics workflows to support the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data.

Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) and genomics is a plus. This includes the use of high-performance computing cluster (linux environment) and experience in programming in R is a plus. The candidate will report to the core director and other Core staff and work with computational scientists and experimental biologists' teams from various research teams to design, develop, and deploy robust data analysis workflows for multi-omics datasets (including but not limited to single-cell and bulk NGS data, proteomics).

The candidate should have a BS or MS in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field and be skilled in use of high-performance computing cluster and cloud computing, R, and Python. Activities occur with full supervision and the candidate should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The data analyst will participate in validation and maintenance of data analysis pipelines, monitoring of quality metrices, analysis of large datasets, and development of methods for data visualization.

The analyst should demonstrate ability to work in team environment and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This position will report to the Director of the Computational Immunogenomics Core. .

Proficiency with statistical and programing languages (e.g., Java, Python, Perl, R), Unix/Linux/cloud computing, and database query languages.

Experience with automating computational work in environments such as jupyter or R markdown and coding environments (GitHub). Hands on experience with visualization tools and libraries such as R-shiny, D3, and web development is preferred. Experience in genetic and/or epigenetic data analyses using existing or custom pipelines is preferred

Experience with biological datasets (single-cell or bulk RNA-seq, DNA, next-generation sequencing) is highly desirable.

Experience with R Shiny/ Python Dash or similar, text mining techniques is preferred. N/A
