We have an immediate opening with our Salaried Professionals program and are currently searching for Auditors with experience working in the government/municipality field! This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity as a consultant assisting our clients throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

About the position:


In this role with Robert Half, you will help scope, plan and execute a variety of engagements and client relationships. Our staff augmentation, project consulting and resource based services range from interim staff roles to tackling the most recent business challenges facing our clients on an ad hoc and continual basis. As full-time members of our practice, Salaried Professionals will be asked to participate in 'practice' activities that include professional networking events and assisting our business development staff in staying abreast of industry trends and new business opportunities with their assigned clients. Additional compensation will be available for assistance in developing successful new business for Robert Half.


Requirements


We are seeking strong Sr. Internal Auditors with experience in municipality auditing as well as the following essential duties and responsibilities:


+ Directs and supervises Assistant Auditors. Reviews staff projects and compilations. Plans and coordinates the activities of staff.


+ Recommends course of action for problems staff encounter. Assists where needed. Trains and cross-trains staff for new tasks.


+ Ensures accuracy of financial records and reports. Checks for proper classification and resolves any discrepancies.


+ Assists department heads and their staff with interpretation of financial data. Solves problems encountered with financial records.


+ Monitors budget performance of all departments. Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports. Assists in preparation of annual audit reports.


+ Prepares various schedules, analyses, and reports as required.


+ Assists payroll and accounts payable.


+ Develops and maintains general ledger and budgetary accounting system online. Assists in further computerization.


+ Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the department as assigned or required.


3 Keys:


+ 5+ years of accounting or analyst experience with strong business acumen and technology expertise - ERP experience is a must, but if you do not have large Accounting ERP experience, you will need to possess, at minimum, Intermediate Excel skills - Pivots and Look Ups.


+ Experience in at least two Accounting Functions such as: GL Accounting and Analysis experience, Fixed Assets and Job Costing w/GL Accounting experience, AP/AR/Payroll etc.


+ Must thrive in a dynamic environment, be flexible and do well in environments of change. Able to execute with little to no direction

+ Learning curves need to be short. Must catch on quickly.


+ Communication - Must be efficient, concise, and accurate in both verbal and oral presentation. Also, must be an excellent listener.


+ Must be able to build and develop a rapport with client personnel.
